My name is Miguel Angel Bastarrachea Magnani. I am a Researcher at the Physics Department of the Autonomous Metropolitan University Campus Iztapalapa (UAM-I) in Mexico City. I entered as an Assistant Professor in 2020, and I became Associate Professor in 2023.

I was born in Ensenada, a city located in the state of North Baja California in Mexico. I lived in several cities around Mexico until I settled in Mexico City to study in the Open High School (Preparatoria Abierta) of the Mexican Secretariat of Public Education (SEP).

I studied for a Bachelor in Physics (2005-2010) in the Faculty of Sciences (Facultad de Ciencias) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México) in short UNAM. Also, I obtained my Master Degree (2010-2012) and my PhD in Physics (2012-216) from the Nuclear Sciences Institute (Instituto de Ciencias Nucleares) in UNAM.

Also, I studied for a Bachelor in Philosophy (2011-2016) in the open education system (SUA), next a PhD in Philosophy (2017-2022) at the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature (Facultad de Filosofía y Letras) in UNAM.

I have worked as a postdoctoral researcher both in the Nuclear Sciences Institute (2016), the Albert-Ludwig University of Freiburg, Germany (2016-2018), and at the University of Aarhus in Denmark (2018-2020). I have made academic visits to the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and University of Tennessee USA (2008), Universidad Veracruzana in Xalapa, Mexico (2014, 2019), Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic (2014), and the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), Madrid, España (2016, 2019).
