My name is Miguel Angel Bastarrachea Magnani. I was born in Ensenada a city located in the state of North Baja California in Mexico. I lived in several cities all around Mexico until I settled down in Mexico City to study in the Open High School (Preparatoria Abierta) of the Mexican Secretariat of Public Education (SEP).

I studied a Bachelor in Physics (2005-2010) in the Faculty of Sciences (Facultad de Ciencias) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México), in short UNAM. Also, I obtained my Masters Degree (2010-2012) and my PhD (2012-216) in Physics in the Nuclear Sciences Institute (Instituto de Ciencias Nucleares) in UNAM. Finally, I got my Bachelor in Philosophy degree in the open education system (SUA) of the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature of Philosophy and Literature (Facultad de Filosofía y Letras) in UNAM.

I have worked as a postdoctoral researcher both in the Nuclear Sciences Institute (2016), the Albert-Ludwig University of Freiburg, Germany (2016-2018), and since 2019 at the University of Aarhus in Denmark. I have made academic visits to the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and University of Tennessee USA (2008), Universidad Veracruzana in Xalapa, Mexico (2014, 2019), Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic (2014), and the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), Madrid, España (2016, 2019).
